Complete the MCDC Seminar

Find an upcoming MCDC seminar through the NCCDP seminar calendar, then register and attend. 

Formats and schedules vary by trainer, so choose the seminar that works best for you.

Submit the CMDCP® Application

Then come back to our Member Portal and complete an application. Upon approval, you will be a CMDCP®.

Anyone who works in the healthcare field with at least one full year of paid experience working with persons affected by dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

Step One: Complete the MCDC seminar. The MCDC seminar is the required course for those pursuing CMDCP® certification. Check here for live seminars.

Step Two: Sign up for our member portal, and complete the application! Find the Member Portal here.

One full year of paid experience and a Certificate of Completion from an MCDC seminar given by an approved CMDCPT trainer.

The seminar fee can vary, and the application fee is $185 USD.

Please note that we also have group and association rates that may be available to select individuals.

Renewal is every two years. You will need to login at our member portal and complete a renewal application. We require all members to have 10 CEUs in anything healthcare related to renew. The cost of renewal is $185.

The Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP) is a strong option because it focuses on practical, person-centered care and helps improve engagement, independence, and quality of life.
