Goals and Objectives of the ADDC Seminar
- Deliver essential instructions on dementia and its care
- Improve the quality of life for people living with dementia by educating care providers
- Cultivate empathy and regard for people living with dementia
- Teach effective communication strategies
- Offer sensitive methods for supporting people living with dementia in daily activities
- Build foundational knowledge about dementia
- Identify common triggers for exit-seeking, evening restlessness, and repetitive signs of distress
- Explain behavioral and care strategies to prevent, reduce, or address dementia-related, complex situations
- Describe care partner stress and effective stress-reduction techniques
- Introduce alternative activity interventions that are success-oriented and failure-free
- Receive a certificate of attendance

If attending an ADDC seminar taught by an Approved Trainer, please check with that Trainer to see if their seminar is approved for CEUs.

Registration Information
The tuition is $210.00 per person. You will receive an email confirmation of your registration. Once payment is received, you are enrolled unless otherwise notified. NCCDP retains the authority to call off seminars due to inadequate registration. Participants requiring cancellation must submit written notice to NCCDP at least one week before the scheduled seminar date. Refunds for cancellations will be granted after deducting a $75.00 administrative fee. Nonpayment of necessary fees will result in the cancellation of issued Continuing Education credits.
Reschedule Policy - Corporate Seminars Only
If you need to reschedule your registration for the Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care (ADDC) Seminar, please email your request to nccdpoffice@nccdp.org.
Please note the following guidelines:
- You must reschedule within 60 days of your original seminar date.
- You are allowed to reschedule up to two times.
- After two reschedules, you will be refunded the seminar fee, minus the cancellation fee.
Cancellation Policy
IF NCCDP CANCELS THE CLASS:
The NCCDP reserves the right to cancel seminars due to insufficient enrollment, travel delays due to weather or other conditions, illness, injury, or any other unforeseen circumstance and will not be held liable for student’s time lost or travel costs. You will be notified as soon as possible prior to the start of the seminar if the seminar is canceled. We will assist you in rescheduling to attend another seminar.Â
IF YOU CANCEL:
If you must cancel, please email nccdpoffice@nccdp.org. A cancellation fee of $75.00 per person applies. No refunds will be issued once the seminar has commenced. If you paid via check, the refund will be processed and mailed to you within 60 days. If you paid via credit card, the refund will be processed through your credit card within two weeks of the seminar.
Who the ADDC Seminar Is For
This seminar is designed for long-term care professionals and other care team members supporting someone living with dementia. It helps build confidence in key areas, including:
- Effective communication techniques
- Responding to distress expressions with calm and clarity
- Supporting someone through repetitive behaviors
- Understanding and responding to restlessness in the late afternoon
