NCCDP seminars are offered in multiple formats, available to anyone pursuing CDP, CADDCT, or other NCCDP certifications:
- In person: attend a live seminar at a physical location
- Live online: join a live virtual seminar from anywhere
- Certified trainer: book a seminar led by an NCCDP-certified CADDCT trainer, at your organization or elsewhere

Corporate Seminars
Corporate seminars are ADDC sessions taught by one of NCCDP’s own VPs of Corporate Training. It is hosted 3–4 times per month in person or live online.
Note: CADDCT candidates must attend a corporate seminar specifically, not a trainer-led one.

Approved Trainer Seminars
These ADDC seminars are presented by Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainers (CADDCTs), certified by NCCDP. The curriculum and programming of these seminars are identical to corporate seminars.

How much do seminars cost?
Seminar pricing is set independently by each certified trainer and can vary by format and location. NCCDP’s own corporate seminars are held at a rate of $210 per session, subject to change.
What topics will be covered in the seminar?
The ADDC seminar covers 12 modules across 7 hours, including an overview of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, compassionate communication, dementia-friendly environments, behavioral expressions, fall prevention, activities of daily living, and end-of-life care.
Additional modules address depression, sleep disturbances, delusions, hallucinations, intimacy, and spirituality.
Can healthcare professionals earn certification from a dementia seminar?
Completing the ADDC seminar is the required first step toward earning the Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) credential through NCCDP, but the seminar itself does not automatically provide any sort of professional certification.
Corporate ADDC seminars are approved for 7 CEUs for nurses in most states via The InsPAC, 7 NAB credits, 7 CEUs for NCCAP certifications, and 7 CEUs for NCCDP certifications.
All seminar participants receive a certificate of attendance upon completion.
Are dementia seminars suitable for family caregivers?
Yes, the ADDC seminar is open to anyone providing care to individuals living with dementia, including family care partners. The curriculum covers practical topics like effective communication techniques, managing repetitive behaviors, late-day restlessness, catastrophic events, and reducing care partner stress. All attendees receive a certificate of attendance upon completion. Family caregivers may not be eligible for certification after taking the seminar.
Which seminar allows me to apply for each certification?
The ADDC, or Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar, allows you to apply for the CDP (Certified Dementia Practitioner) Certification. This is also the prerequisite seminar for the CDSGF (Certified Dementia Support Group Facilitator) Certification, as well as the CDV (Certified Dementia Volunteer) Certification.
The MCDC, or Montessori Concepts in Dementia Care seminar, allows you to apply for the CMDCP (Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional) Certification.
To be a trainer, you must attend the CADDCT seminar or the CMDCPT seminar. These seminars are not interchangeable- if you want to be a CADDCT (Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer), you must attend the CADDCT seminar. If you want to be a CMDCPT (Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional Trainer), you must attend the CMDCPT seminar.
