More About CDVâ„¢
Volunteers are the heart and soul of an organization. To maintain a successful volunteer program, it is vital for healthcare organizations to bring meaningful educational opportunities to their volunteers. An effective Memory Care Program flourishes when its volunteers are adequately trained and informed, equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to deliver the highest standard of service.
Many volunteers at the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners have attended the Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar(s), even if they did not meet the eligibility requirements for Certified Dementia Practitioner certification. The NCCDP currently provides a unique certification tailored for this exceptionally special group: Certified Dementia Volunteer (CDV). After finishing the NCCDP seminar, volunteers can attain certification. The certification acknowledges their expertise in assisting individuals with cognitive decline whom they have been working with for years.
