The National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) is proud to recognize Brittany Coleman—who has been nominated for CADDCT of the Year—for her exceptional leadership, tireless commitment to staff education, and unwavering belief that people living with memory loss deserve lives filled with dignity, purpose, and joy.

Leading with purpose—and scaling excellence through education

Great dementia care doesn’t happen by accident. It is built through consistent standards, a compassionate culture, and training that helps every team member understand not only what to do, but why it matters.

As Divisional Director of Memory Care for Senior Lifestyle, Brittany’s impact is broad and deeply felt. In this role, she supports 20 Senior Lifestyle communities—providing leadership, coaching, and hands-on guidance to help teams deliver the highest level of memory care.

This year alone, Brittany personally conducted 30 training sessions using Senior Lifestyle’s signature memory care program, EMBRACE—strengthening program consistency, elevating team confidence, and supporting quality of life for residents and families.

The heart behind the work

Brittany’s nomination highlights what colleagues and care teams recognize immediately: her leadership is rooted in compassion, and her standards are rooted in respect.

“I do what I do because I believe every person living with memory loss deserves to live with dignity, purpose, and joy…”

“…I hope to create consistency in exceptional care. When every team member understands the ‘why’ behind what we do…”

EMBRACE: aligning training with a dignity-first model of memory care

Senior Lifestyle describes Embrace Memory Care as a dignity-first approach designed to spark joy, connection, and personal growth—with programming tailored to each person’s interests and lifelong passions.

Through structured program elements that support wellness, creativity, connection, and meaningful engagement, the Embrace model helps teams deliver consistent care while still honoring each resident’s individuality.

A trainer who builds capability—and champions collaboration

Brittany’s leadership also shows up in how she shares expertise, builds confidence in others, and brings practical tools into training environments. By championing evidence-informed strategies and collaboration, she strengthens caregivers and helps communities deliver more consistent, person-centered support.

Brittany has been an incredible source of leadership and support for the Acclaim community—particularly our Memory Care Neighborhood.  Her most recent onsite visit was instrumental in helping us successfully launch Memory Care as a new community.  Through hands-on guidance and meaningful collaboration, she supported our team in implementing Embrace and establishing strong foundational practices.  Brittany brings clarity, encouragement, and practical expertise that empower both leadership and frontline clinical staff. Her partnership strengthens compliance, resident engagement, and person-centered care.  She leads with professionalism and HEART. We are truly grateful for her continued commitment to Acclaim and our Memory Care team.

Congratulations, Brittany

Brittany Coleman’s nomination reflects more than a title—it reflects culture change: shaping teams, strengthening consistency, uplifting caregivers, and championing the humanity of every individual living with memory loss.

From all of us at NCCDP: congratulations, Brittany, on this well-deserved nomination. Thank you for modeling what it means to lead through education—and for raising the standard of dementia care, one team member, one community, and one meaningful moment at a time.
